Hi Slab,
I took this video on the weekend following the 4th of July. The lake is one of hundreds small natural in the State of Michigan. This one has no developed shoreline and no shore access other than a single fishing pier. The entire lake has very little shallow water and the entire shoreline is pretty much one big deep weed edge. The water is very clear. The task for the angle is to find something that makes one particular piece of weed edge better than the rest. The entire lake is fed by a single feeder creek so for me, that was the obvious place to start searching for specks. I fished for about two hours after dawn in front from the inlet as well as about 20 feet of the shore line on either side. All fish were taken by casting Gulp minnows on small yellow jigs. Most hit the offering of the retrieve but a few seemed to prefer a relatively motionless presentation. By 8:00 AM the bite seemed to die down and I had 12 good fish on the stringer.
