Don't think a couple guys making comments about working and having to drive a long distance to get to an event would be considered whining. It's nice that you can Just Do It no matter where or what. Too bad we all can't do that.

Thanks for that. I certainly was not "whining"! I was making a comment about most of the events being held on the other side of the state and it is not easy for some of us to get to them. I am retired but still have to work to make ends meet and can't take off on Saturdays. This would be the reasons that I have never been to any of the events. I too love to fish and especially for Crappie and that is why I come here and read the post and make comments now and then. I hope I have not rustled any feathers.

Hey Ole Timer, don't let it bother you. They could have been talking about me, seeing as I made some comments about it. I also am retired 16years, and money is tight. It wasn't at first, but is now. We have to plan way ahead to be able to spend the money for a 400-500 mile trip. And most of the time we can't do it. That's not whining, that's a fact. I'm on here a lot and I speak my mind about things. I pay my dues and don't attack any one. So I guess If you think I'm whining, I have the right. Maybe I'm on here too much.

Ha Ha .....no way....I see a lot of post from you and I enjoy reading them. If someone can't speak their mind, what good is it to speak? Carry on Sir!
On a lighter note, when I first joined the site I added a picture of myself. It does not appear next to my name, like yours does. What do I do about that?

Go to your profile and it's under avatar. You have to download your picture there. I think?

Kevin, Do a search on "Cabin Rentals" at Hamlin. You will find a ton of them by all the bays. Ice report for that area is 5-6 in the boyou's but I have not heard anything on the fishing yet. This lake is well known for it's big blue gills and everyone fishes the hard pond to get their fill. I know at Houghton you can rent shanties (might even be sleepers). That might be worth taking a look at. Rent a sleeper, use it as a base cabin and venture out from there. Never leave the ice.... That one might also be a little closer for everyone too! Guys from the North, East, and West. Plenty of opportunities to fish Walleye, Pike, Perch, Gills, and Crappie

No one said we have to just have one. We can have several. I am also not opposed to people saying... "Hey, I'm headed to lake X this weekend, Who's with me".

As always, I fish by myself most of the time. I'm always willing to take anyone along if they want to meet someplace or they live on the way!

Don't you worry about rustling any feathers OT. Larry is right about trying to make the events more "user friendly" so we are going to take that up.
