    Default Clare, Michigan

Howdy fellas. I am gonna be up in Clare in the next week or two for wok, depending on when our materials arrive. The job will take a few days and would like to get some fishing in. Looking for perch or eyes. Not asking for the hotspots, but would like some info on the area from fellow members. Feel free to PM me and thanks in advance.

it has been a couple years , but i used to do quite well on long lake ,just north of harrison, off old 27, about a mile past the freeway on the right side of old 27, the north end ofthe lake was best for me, not to far from clare has a decent public boat launch.

sorry rico, think i must be brain dead, crappie are what i always got in long lake, butcome to think of it, I did get some nice perch in budd lake, while fishing for crappie, budd is right in harrison, never targeted them specificalso there is a smalllake called cranberry just east of there, caught plenty of perch there, most a bit on the smaller side though.but again, caught the perch while fishing for crappie, so who knows, may be some good ones in there.
    hope this helps a bit,

It's a pretty long drive from here, and I have never fished around Clare. YD, you know me pretty good. If I knew anything, about the Clare area, it would have been on here.

Bud Lake in Harrison has both Walleyes and perch in good numbers. Wixom lake, about 25 minutes east of Clare is giving up some good walleyes right now, but not much in the way of perch. And then of course there is the Tittabawassee River anywhere from Secord Lake in Northern Gladwin county all the way into Midland county. The Tittabawassee is outstanding for walleye if you know how to fish them in a river. I am not a walleye or perch fisherman but I do know those lakes produce both quite regularly this time of year. Now if you are interested in gills or crappies around the Clare area, that is another story that I might just have one or two hotspots I could possibly fill you in on.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Thanks slabs. I really appreciate it. Really just interested in the 'eyes and perch. Thanks for the offer on the gills and specks......but my freezer is full of them! LOL. Although it aint the longest of drives for me and the crew, pulling the boat up there would involve bringing up two vehicles. Does either of the lakes you mentioned have a marina or such that has boat rental?
