    Default Anybody Fishing??

Any of you folks doing any fishing? I should have went today, but got busy. Going to the Soo this weekend to visit my Cousin. We'll most likely fish Brimley Bay for Perch. Going to try & stay out of the casino, but I know that won't happen. If any of you have any extra $$ you would like to send along, just let me know... Thanks...

I took my grandson to da UP to fish the last weekend of the brook trout season and we just got back last night. We caught quite a few like this one.
I took the wife to da UP for a color tour earlier in the week and we took a tour of the slots at Kewadin in St. Ignace. She won $200.00. I made the usualt "donation."
I'm a deer hunter but putting the fishing tackle away NEVER happens. Fall fishing is some of the best of the year. WOOPS! Preaching to the choir is a bad habit I have.
Some of life's most precious memories take place in the presence of a fish.

They sure are a pretty fish, nice picture, thanks. I know how that "donation" thing works.

I went out on Saturday. To say I fished would be a false statement. I went to a new lake (change of scenery). Fishing was non productive in the only deep hole in the lake so I decided to take a trip around the outside. After seeing the fish and their lack of size, I put my pole away and toured the lake with my trolling motor. It was nice to look at the houses and the colors of the trees, the flatness of the water, and hear nothing but the wind. As for the fish, well, they got a reprieve and I didn't have to clean any. Was home well before dark too!

My dad is coming down this weekend (to drop off his hunting gear). He's retired so he tends to live at my house during hunting season. We plan on doing some fishing. You can't beat the perch in the fall!

Not much fishing in Monroe, might go Thursday. Erie has been kinda rough lately an I don't like taking chances. I went to my first church shoot last Saturday A.M. Got hit in the chest by a 50 yard ricochet from a BIG caliber jacket casing. It's a good thing it did not hit someone in the eye. Lots of teenagers standing around - none of them wearing safety glasses. The casing passed through the crowd, missed the Pastor who was talking to me and hit me in the chest - just a cut - but the blood made the teens think. We looked for the casing and they finally found it stuck in my beard. Kinda makes one think. I did manage to get my new squirrel rifle sighted in after all the excitement. Now I know why I like hunting alone. The casing will make a nice key chain. Thank God for His protection.

Hey mmeavel, you might have been safer on rough Lake Erie. Glad your OK. Cusin says their getting some Pinks in the St Mary's, so we might do some trolling for them...

Mmeaval, glad your OK. I thought I got out of the military so I "DIDN'T" get shot!! I guess I now know to avoid the Church Shoots!

Crappie 1: Friend of mine lives up near Cedarville. He has been slaming the pinks and the Atlantics on a daily basis. Lives right on the water too! Lucky guy. Just moved back from Washington State to a place he has been trying to get to for 15 years (the S00). He is a Customs special investigator. Single, never married, no kids... lives on the water, new boat... I don't know if I envy him or just want to trade places for a week or two!

Just saying hello with my first post here. My wife and I got out twice in the past week to a lake in Ionia County and got 30 crappies in about 8 hrs of trolling. Not fast and furious, but enough to keep us happy. The biggest were around 11". They were in 15-20 fow, and some pretty good sized schools. Had a lot of bites where they were just nipping the ends of the twister tails and other plastics...could have been gills, but we only caught 2 of those. I should have put on one of those little plugs with two treble hooks, just to find out what was down there, but was too dumb to think of that at the time. We picked days when the weather was perfect. Fall fishing is fun...
