It's a little early for the good Perch fishing, but we had to go try it. Was a beautiful day to be fishing. We got some minnows and went to our favorite Perch fishing lake. They were biting like crazy, we did a lot of sorting and came home with 16. This is one of the bigger ones, 10". About mid Oct. the bigger ones will start. Will fish till the ice stops us.Were getting the Perch on Lindy Little Nippers, their like a hair jig.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
Looking good Larry, Thanks for the pics and report.
"FISHING SEEMS TO BE THE FAVORITE FORM OF LOAFING" - Ed Howe
I was asked the other day if I was ready to winterize my boat. I laughed for 5 minutes and then said: "while the rest of you are wrapping it up, I'm just getting started". I had my boat in the water and fished more before the beginning of April than most did all year, I told them.
My average hunting time per year (over the last 5 years) has been 80 out of 90 days. During that time, my fishing average is about 20. I'm the guy that comes in in the morning, hooks up the boat, heads to the lake, eats lunch in my boat, fishes, heads home and hunts at night. Or, I go out after dark... or, my personal favorite, put the boat in before daylight, slip in to a favorite hunting spot, hunt, then jump in the boat and fish all day and return in the evening..... Winterize my boat before the ice... Their crazy..... Oh, and if I decide to stealhead fish, my boat will never see antifreeze!!!
Same here rich, I never really winterize my boat, I just not use it for a few months or jus push it further into the garage so I can access my ice Fishin gear
get in, sit down, shut up and fish
Last year we put the boat away on Dec. 15th. and got it back out on March 15th. Doesn't look like that will happen this year. It's looking like it will be colder this fall.

Lets Hope for a good season this year. Kevin is right though. Currently my ice fishing gear is located behind my boat and next to my snow plow. I just move stuff around in my barn. I guess you call that "getting ready for winter". With the way our winters go these days, you don't even need to add fuel stabalizer. Heck, the batteries don't even go dead!
