Default Having a problem with my Johnson [motor that is].

When I'm on plane moving at a nice speed when I turn the throttle to go faster it sounds like the motor is just revving up. Anybody have an idea what it could be ? I have 25 hp Seahorse.

    Default Propeller

Could be your propeller hub is slipping. Try borrowing another propeller to see if this is the problem. They can be repaired if it is.

Another option is the pitch on the prop is not right for the boat. If the hub is good, have a prop shop match the pitch to the boat.

I put 4 different props on my boat until I found one that worked good for me. And not only the pitch but if its a 3 or 4 blade prop too.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
