    Default Prop Question

Just purchased new factory prop off of Ebay for my 40hp Honda. I have a 11 x 15 on it now and I ordered a 11 x 15. But they sent me a c3 11 x 15 and it looks like the tip of the blades are machined down like lawnmower blades. My question is this is it considered cupped with the tips like this and if it is will I get a better holeshot? I am thinking about sending it back and getting what I origanily ordered.

If it is cupped you will feel and see a slight bowl shape towards the edge of the prop. Yes the cup will help get the boat up a little quicker and also add bow lift. If the edges are ground down like you described (what I am thinking) did you get this from a private person or company? Sounds like you are describing they ground the edges to get rid of nicks.. Get the prop you asked for. Hope you paid by pay pal. The cup should start approximately 1/2 to 3/4" from the edge of the blades.

Thanks Brushnjig, It is a factory prop and the filing is about 1/2 inch from the tips and curved. I contacted the seller and they saidbthey will exchange it if it doesn't work so I am going to give it a try.
