    Default Props?

Would some of you guys tell me about props? I dinged mine up some this weekend and I'm looking to replace it. I'm thinking of going with a stainless. It's the orginal prop, 13 1/4" dia. and 19 pitch. It's on a 2009 75 hp Mercury Optimax, that's on a Tracker V18 All Fish.
Any insight or suggestions welcome. It's always done ok for me as far as speed and getting on plane. It will go faster than the fish can swim :D
    Thanks ahead for any help.

    Default Pics of Dings

Here's a couple pics of the bend. I was told this could be enough to be un-balanced and wear my seals out?? I don't know

Yes that is enough to cause seal damage.

It's worth having it rebuilt and kept as a spare. Stainless are tough but they ain't bulletproof.

How hard is it to replace. Just looking at it, don't look to be very hard to replace. Or I'm I missing something??

Take a look at the sticky at the top of the forum about props. You'll learn alot there. And no...its not hard to replace...I've done alot standing in the water behind the boat...trying out new ones.

Interesting this subject should pop up at the very moment I have a prop under repair. If you can't find a local shop that does this special kind of work, ship it to Sanderson Marine here in the Richmond area.

Thanks for the information, just ordered a direct replacement. Best I could find was $95 shipping and all. Could not see the $262 for a stainless right now.
I'm going to have the old one repaired for a spare.

Replacing it is the right thing to do for piece of mind. I have to admitt though. I have seen props in Far worse shape that that.
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.
