Before pulling your old wire tape the 6 ga. wire to the end of the10 ga. wire youre replacing and pull it thru. It aint gonna be easy but about the only way I know you gonna get it thru.

    Talking Use a "snake" ....

Something like this : 25' Steel Fish Tape Flat Wire Snake

... if you fail with gabowman's method.

I've used both methods, successfully, but the wire to wire method was used on a fiberglass boat (no conduit). The Tracker runs the wires thru a plastic conduit, and a "snake" had to be used on it.

    ... cp

If your pulling wires through conduit try using some wire lube. That will make your job a lot easier, Good luck!

It could be under the foam. Make sure you connect the new wires good so they don't come loose where you can't get to them also pull a good heavy nylon string with the wires so in the future if you need a new wire in front you have the string there to pull it with.

Tracker boats come apart very easily, get yourself a cordless drill with a #2 phillips tip and follow the yellow brick road!!!

If you can't find wire lube to slick the wire, use liquid soap. Elactricians used to use it in a pinch on commercial buildings I worked on. Make sure all of the tie wraps are cut loose of the bundle before you start trying to snake or wire to wire pull. One forgotten makes it a bear. Ask me how I know.

Can I ask why you are going from 10 to 6 Gauge. I have a Tracker as well and the battery dies pretty fast when I am on the trolling motor. Just wondering if it is something I should look at doing?
