    Default lower unit damage

    Hey guys,

Just got back from the Red River and had to get towed back to the launch, due to hitting a rock jettie and tearingup the lower unit and prop, any ideas if it is hard to replace? It's a 90 hp opti-max, merc. Anythoughts on what it will cost to have repaired? Thanks

    Nathan

Hope you have a strong constitution. Anywhere from $500 to $2500. If it's a little older, start lookin for a parts motor. Good luck with the fix.

Start searching Craigslist and Ebay........It took me 6 months to find one but the cost savings over new ($2700 new vs. $350 used) were well worth the wait.....

I fished all spring with just my TM...... putting in at the bay that I was going to fish....pain in the bu** but at least not as painful on my wallet....

    Default Replacement

I suggest you Check out a company called SEI , Or Stern Drive engineering they sell brand new lower units for around 800.00, I know a man who operates a boat repair facility that has bought several units from them and has had no problems with them. Just a thought.
