Default Showed some Upstate New Yorker the Best of Delmarva!

Had some company last week from upstate new york, a old friend i've known since the late 70's and his 2 sons now 26 and 28 who i've watched grow up in increments os years since they were born.
I took a couple days off to spend with them and do some stuff they dont have available to them up there, they got a load of clams and oysters to take back to friends and relatives. We got out on the pier one night and caught some small rock and flounder. Took the boys out to try crabbin with traps last friday in the rain, not many crabs and cold but nothing compared to what they are used to, as a matter of fact it was snowing its butt off in there neck of the woods that day. We caught a few crabs but there just not on the bite good yet so had to take em to an all u can eat crab house that night, we were there for 3 1/2 hours??
I really wanted to show them how we get crappie down here, they do a little crappie fishin up there and get some real nice ones, my friend has 3 on his wall that are 16 1/2 inches long, but there lucky to get 6 or 10 in an evening, which isnt to shabby at that size, but there not all that big. Well I had tear em up and crappie dude over for a crappie dinner with them a week ago and had already decided to take them to our private lake we fish thats usually pretty good. We had a great dinner.
So last wendsday we got there around 9 am and the weather was fantastic, sunny and 80s. Little too much wind but thats delmarva in the spring. Tried to put out 6 rods and start bobber trolling to find them but what a disaster that was so cut back some and immediatly started catching fish on green twisters and fin es minnows.
Well the wind made my job tough, but we caught em bobber trolling, long line trolling and even stopped in a few spots and caught em casting with bobbers and just jigs as well, so covered the whole gambit. We ended up with a couple of pickeral, 10 or 12 monster gills, and I had 47 crappie on the counter largest being 13 1/2, let em all go since this is a release only lake. What really impressed these guys were the yellow perch, I was not counting but we probably caught 25 to 30 10 to 13 inch yellers, and these guys are from perch country. The quality of our perch in the last few years really seems to have improved. That was the only chance we got to get on a pond so im glad I pulled out my hole card for them.
So a great week and everyone was happy, especially me.
