I haven't fished over that way for awhile but Loch Raven & Prettyboy used to be good places for crappie.

Of course I'll add my favorite....Joppatowne! almost any time of the year. You can bank fish in the park at Mariner Point, but launching a small boat usually gets better results.

What about fishing from there around this time of year? Also, any Yellow Perch at this location?

Yep to both questions. My buddy was out 2 days ago and got about 60 yellow perch. I'm not able to get out until Thursday and that's where I'm going.

Was your buddy on a boat or fishing from shore? Maybe I just didn't stick around long enough, i was at the wrong spot or just wasn't implementing the right technique but I could even get a bite in 2 hours fishing from the boat ramp area at Mariner Point on Saturday morning. Threw out minnows about 5 feet under a bobber and 2" chartreuse powerbait minnows on 1/16 jigheads w/slow retrieve ... nothing ... great weather though so it wasn't a complete loss!

    Default bait/lure?

Just curious as to what method for the YP ... I'm assuming minnows or grubs on a jig under a bobber?

Plastics under a bobber for me. Minnows will work, I just don't like using bait if I don't have to.
