I've been using The Mr. Crappie for a couple of years, but before that I would use Trilene XL in the clear blue color.

I use BPS Excell on multipole rigs due to affordability $23 for 9000 of 6lb. ! I like Berkley Sensation on rods I hand hold or cast.

    Thumbs up

I've spent a fortune on line and have a closet full of half used spools! In all of my experimentation I have settled on P-Line CXX. It comes in very few colors, but they do offer a green, a crystal clear and a hi-vis. I've used 4,6,and 8 pound. Everywhere from Ross-Barnett to Clearwater and Norfork to Old Hickory. The stumps at Reelfoot don't stand a chance with it. It is hook straightening stuff.

Less memory the more you use it.

Teach a man to fish, he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Yeah I've tried some 6 in that. I even tried the pink maxima crap too. Looked real pretty, just didn't care for it. The P-Line seems to knot better, doesn't stretch too bad, and is reasonably priced. There are alot of excellent lines out there and truth be known they are probably all made by some mass producer overseas! Just put in different packages!

Grizz, I haven't used it but I checked it out at Bass Pro. It's very thick for its stated breaking strain. The 6# line was listed as .010" or .25mm in diameter. That's as thick (and thicker, in some cases) as other brand's 8# line. Six was the lowest BP had on the shelf, so I didn't get to check the 4# line.
