OMG ! what did it weigh ?

Unfortunately, we will just never know for sure , I did measure it, best I could, before watching her lay on the surface as she reorganized herself and got upright and very slowly swam away .
At first glance I thought she was right at 18 inches long and then after looking closer to the image, she appears to be pushing nineteen inches long !
Now mind you this , killing a fish for me has to have a really good reason and weighing one when you are on your lunchbreak, will pretty much seal the deal on it has to die.
So even though it was a wall worthy crappie, and would have likely tasted good and then all the pats on ones back for subduing such a fish and the promotion of whoever and or whatever you were using to ketch said fish (I was wearing my old crappie.com ballcap )
them are just a few of the reasons to expire it ........but...
that stuff just ain't me .....
she reminded me of this .....Born to be Wild .....and back in the drink she went.
So without further ado, here is an image or 2 of what I am pretty much for sure would have SMASHED the lake record really well and possibly even made the magic 3 number ....
but again, I say this about that, we will just never know for sure .....
and sometimes it just is what it is ....
and that my friends is for sure .......

so here are the facts on this episode of lunchbreak fish ketchn , she was in about 7 fow ,wind just howling and rocking that old dock , about 6 foot down between 2 well placed bamboo condos . same 1/16 orange jig I been using on 8 lb. zebco clear mono ....
Still loving my lil 6 foot red riding in the hood set up and for sure she can man handle a REALLY large crappie about a million times quicker than a long rod ....tight quarters gear for sure ....
managed an ok number of larger crappie with her and one really nice channel cat about 2 feet long as the last fish of the visit .
managed only one or 2 male fish in short water , the wind has got the spawning area churned up and muddy the last week or so .....
I think she might have been my best crappie in the last 10 or so years , not totally sure , but to be VERY sure ....she was just WOW BIG !
and I tipped my hat to her as she swam off , as well .....just saying
p.s. a 15 inch crappie don't look like much when one like that comes up , just saying
