    Default Pushing/Pulling jigs

Let me preface this with I’ve never done either of these techniques. I’m just trying to figure a way to fish with my [emoji6Pushing/Pulling jigsPushing/Pulling jigs] year old twins that might keep them interested. What are y’all’s opinions?

I'd say it would depend on their age & how much patience they have ... plus what stage the fish are in and where they're located. Both methods require the fish to mostly be in open water that's mostly devoid of any "snaggy" cover.

That said ... I prefer Pushing over Pulling for these reasons : shorter amount of line out to obtain the same depth means less chance of the fish getting off on the way in ... better control in turns & ability to make shorter turns w/o lines crossing/tangling.
    When I Pushed jigs, I did it with four 14' rods - 1oz trolling weights - 6# test leaders - @~1mph

When I "did" Pull jigs ... it was one rod, in hand, at about 0.5-0.7mph, with ~40ft of line out (best I can remember).

That "emoji thing" happens with iPhones for some reason, and we haven't as yet figured out how to stop it (of if we even can).

I don't have & never have had kids, nor have I fished in a boat with kids, so I'll leave that part of the equation to those that can relate. My concern was their patience, your patience, and how experienced they are as to how long their interest would last. That being said, if it were me, I'd give them one pole apiece to hold and slow troll along a spawning bank with a 1/16oz marabou Road Runner. Maybe even make it a contest (biggest Crappie - biggest any other specie - most fish caught). Take plenty of drinks/snacks and take a break in the shade (if it's hot out) every now & then. Tell them big fish stories (true & rumored) to keep their attention & spirits up during any lull in the action.

    Luck2ya !!
