That should read slip float.
The advantage of this technique is the ultra slow presentation of the jig or jig/minnow combination although we mainly use jigs, Charlie Brewer Sliders, or my son’s creation the “Butt Ugly.”
With the slip float we can creep up to the fish and then stop reeling and drop down to just above them.
The thing is to be slightly reeling away when they start after it. Triggers a strike reflex and you have the added benefit of the jig hook being turned towards the crappie insuring a positive hook up.
