I think most are medium with a fast tip, 14ft seems to be a standard length. I have used B&Ms but like my Southern Crappie 14ft'rs

I’m using some 12 ft rods that I had. Just getting started in spiderrigging. These rods with a 1/2 oz sinker are bent way over it’s hard to adjust the holder to keep the rod out of the water. I get a bunch of take downs where the rod tip goes completely under the water but I don’t catch a lot of them.
I also use 1/2 oz. sinkers. Rods made of fiberglass will have LOTS more bend in them than ones made of graphite. I have been told by folks with livescope that a lot of times when your rod goes down and you can't catch anything that the fish are grabbing the sinker.

This is the way I make my trolling rigs except I put a jig on the bottom.

[QUOTE=no luck;4459102]Will that top hook get wrapped the line the sinker I’d on?[/QUOTE I will sometimes but we still catch many fish on this rig. Make sure the top line is short enough so that it is above the slip sinker, if not it will cause problems.

I have the 14’ BGJP’s, and they are great for slow pushing minners, but if I was doing it over, I would get the PST’s just because they are a little more versatile
