Amazing what a crappie can fit in their mouth, even small ones. While river fishing for bass had one 8" crappie that managed to fit a 1/4 oz jig with a 4" grub and 3/0 hook in his mouth. Little ones are always hungry.
white crappie are basically a really shy bass type panfish , them things will eat some large food items for sure and that there way over sized mouth is a dead giveaway
