I own all three, canoe, kayak and paddle jon. They all have their advantages and deficiencies. If I were to have to go to only one it would be my 17' paddle jon. It will float as shallow as a yak or canoe, it can take big water, it functions on the lake very stable. Mine is an older lowe they no longer make but blazer makes one.
