"Yup, almost time for Rojo’s visitors again"
I had one in the yard night before last. I just found field mice eating a few pecans that fell on my shop floor so traps were set. I caught two yesterday, one mouse in a Victor Trap, those just smoke a mouse. Also caught one in a sticky trap. I set several more Victor traps and sticky traps yesterday evening. I thought a Fairy Godpossom was lurking, Buckeye confirmed it.
Thought this thread had died but how timely. I first caught a possum with her babies in the cage trap. I saw one coon and he was too smart for the trap. Went to Bass Pro and bought a Duke coon trap and that did the trick. The first coon I caught was the largest coon I have ever seen. He would barely fit in a 30 gal trash bag. Two later I caught another boar but he was not as large as the first. I second the comment to not put the trap any near something the coons can destroy. The big one nearly took out a Yaupon Holly and the smaller one chewed on the stairs to my deck. The Duke style trap with some sardines stuffed in the bottom will really catch the coons. I use cat food in the cages and the possums walk right in.
Rojo LIKED above post
Cat food is what I use, I agree they love it. No trap set tonight I'm working on boats and don't want to stop. Trapping over the weekend though.
Got up this AM to find a couple of Visitors in my backyard and not Aliens but Raccoons again.
As long as my bride wants to feed the birds we will draw Coons. Fortunately I picked up the feeders before the storm so they didn't knock them over but are eating seeds on the ground. These are fat too. TRAP TIME.
Yeah my wife feeds the birds too which I do enjoy but that draws every squirrel from 3 miles it seems and those I hate. They dig up and destroy everything.
I’ll send ya some more tree rats Dave, I have plenty to go around…Good luck Rojo…
