    Default New lighting setup

Here on Lake Oconee, a friend of mine and I have been doing a little experimenting. It seems that white light is attracting better than green here lately. We have figured out a pretty good setup. I’ve made some outriggers out of metal conduit that reach out close to where my line enters the water. There I have a 15 watt led off road light that shines into the water. It’s about 12” above the surface. Then I attach my underwater lights to the end as well. The 15 watt lights are about 950 lumens but they barely pull any amps. I have ordered some 40 watt lights that are 6k lumens. Might run those since I don’t spend more than 5-6 hours out there at a time. I’ll work on getting pics once all the kinks are worked out. If anyone has any input, I’d like to hear it

Only thing I can recommend is have the lights above water shine on the rod tips .... but put some kind of blockers on them so they aren't shining back on you. That's less about attracting bugs to you and more about not having to look into the light for all those hours. That'd be especially true if you do actually get the stronger LED lights.

I’ve got some black lights I use with my hi vis line and I’ve got neon nail polish on the rod tips. That really helps.

Sounds like a good setup. Would like to see some photos.
