12 to 16 hours on ice if they went in alive is quite doable .
possibly considerably longer if its slush ice , but they tend to get a bit soft and discolored after about 24 hours in most cases though .
i typically call around 24 to 36 hours a maximum if you want to enjoy cleaning them .
a dead fish put on ice is a crap shoot .
