Pete, don't want to sarcastic.......but you're going to have to wait about 17 years for our patents to run out. Updates for the 987 are being worked on.Quote:

I'd like to have one, but I'll have to wait 17 years till the patent runs out so others can make one that is affordable for people like me (poor boy).
I know technology is great, and expensive, but there is no way I'll be able to buy one any time soon. Shoot, my boat motor and trailer that I've been fishing out of didn't cost that much....
That is good to know. But you do know also that you will have to keep upping the product you have. See I bought mine a little over a year ago. And I think within 3 more years. There will be a better one out from you.Quote:

Keep up the great work. Also I have 3 more people that I will be taking out in the next few weeks for a demo on mine. but with the price of Gas. I think I may have to stop that.
Wish you would come out with a mounting kit for the 987C-Si where I could run it in both boats.
Sure would make it better on me.:D

Pete,
Good suggestion - I'll pass it on the Marketing and Engineering. I know that we have had these in the past for other units and I don't see why we couldn't do this for the 900 series units as well. In case you had not thought of it: many 987/997 unit owners are installing the unit mounting bracket on a RAM or other brand of removable mount - both to make it easier to take inside and keep it safe and also to allow them to more easily move the unit to the bow or a second boat. This would save a few dollars off the cost of setting up a second station on a boat.
UPS just delivered mine. Looking forward to getting it installed and using it this weekend. Hope the learning curve isn't too bad.
If you want some Quick Start information visit the SI Group and on the left side there is a FILES section that has some great starting information. They are all Adobe files that can be downloaded and printed.

I've read this thread with great interest, looks like a nice outfit. Now the 64 dollar question. For you that have the SI's, do you think the unit has enabled you to acually put more fish in the boat. I know the price is high, but if will help to consistently catch more crappie then I think it might would justify getting one.
Thanks
I have been visiting this site since I ordered my unit----lots of info. I'll install mine this afternoon and try it on Mellwood this weekend. Thanks.Quote:
