Bert, I use the 6'6" ESP PowerLite rod .... and twisted line doesn't seem to hurt my normal casting distance "due to the micro guides", any more than twisted line hurts the casting distance of any of my other rods (with regular size guides). You might want to change lines, or "untwist" your current line every so often.
