I kicked my Terova up a few notches into "10". Really wasn't going far, maybe 200 yards total while on "10".
I had just made some minor direction corrections and about 3 seconds after I let go of my remote, the darn thing takes a sharp right, right towards the sea wall at the back of my property! Holy Cow!
I do have the foot pedal always plugged in (in case my remotes battery dies, which it should not have because the battery was just replaced recently). But the foot pedal was on it's side leaning against the the gunnel. And no, it's face was not touching anything. Plus, the Terova was not on Auto Pilot. So I have no idea why this happened.
So there I go, heading straight towards the sea wall with remote not responding. I moved quick as I probably ever have. I grabbed the head of the Terova, and picked the whole thing up and out of the water, but I still hit the sea wall and broke the transducer off the bottom. I still have to go out and look closer (in the day light) to see if the housing or shaft has any damage.
This thing had a mind of it's own. It was possessed! Just turned right while running at top speed, crashing into sea wall! Unreal.
Ever happened to anyone else?
