Even my PD V2 that has auto pilot keeps my hands busy with other things. The I-Pilot is such a step up that I think of it a lot of the time I fish. The anchor feature especially. If I replace what I have now it will be another Riptide with I-Pilot. My current motor has been a real winner for me, flawless performance for over 5 years, and I use it hard.

You just missed a great deal on one in the classifieds. I made my first trip out this past Saturday after putting on my terrova auto pilot .its totally amazing how much easier it was. It Made my trip so much easier even in the wind I could set the continuous on and put it on auto pilot and and adjust the speed and it would keep me sitting in same spot .i pilot would be even greater with the ability to save 6 routes and 6 different spot locks. And the remote . I want ever go back to a cable unless its my only option.

I bought he XI5, last year and the only regret is not buying it sooner, I think if you have Lowrance Systems this would be hard to beat. At one time I hated staying out on the water when the wind was blowing and trying to control the foot control motor, I think this is the best piece of equipment I ever purchased, hands down. The Anchor mode is dead on the money.

You need to look at the mk ultrex. Little pricey but worth it.

So I just went on Minn Kota's website and built a brand new Powerdrive 55 lb 54" motor with I-pilot. The MSRP for that exact one was $1099.00. Is that pretty reasonable for that model? My boat is only a 17' bass tracker so I don't need anything too crazy. My main desire is the anchor/spot lock feature.

Look for a used terrova, you will be a lot happier.

Check Cabela's catalog for a factory reconditioned Terrova. I bought one in 2015, 80 lb, I-Pilot, built in U-2. Same warranty as new. Came in new factory packaging. Really couldn't tell it wasn't brand new. Has worked perfectly and it gets used hard. As best I remember it was $1,179. I'll never go back to foot control. Spot lock works good but not great in really high wind.
