Good repair job.
This one has worked for me:
No need to wrap with electric tap as in the photo.
Super glue the two parts together, overlapping only 1.5 - 2".
Use two electric ties over the blank ends.
Might not look pretty but the two rods I repaired this way have caught hundreds of fish.
