Didnt find the infamous lake worth gator ......
but by golly the crappie were all over every thing i stopped and pitched a jig at . i was looking for ole blind eye , seems he is now a tv personality ,showing up on the local news and banging into folks docks and such . and for these parts he is large and has everyones attention . Dont know where he was or is but i was all alone in the wee early morning in a rather laid down calmness that was a little spooky ,and i do know every big splash made me kinda look in that direction .
so onto the fish ketchn . the crappie both black and white were on every single thing i hit yesterday morning . the brush piles were flat loaded up , the docks were the same and the submerged vertical structures as well . i threw the box at em just to see if color and or size made any difference to the fish . NOT ....they bit anything i dropped in any color.
managed to ketch 100 or so with maybe 15 to 20 in the keeper size range. let them all swim except for 2 i gave to another crappie guy i met about 30 minutes before i left at my last stop . he asked me this ....so does that little boat go pretty good with 40 zebras on the back of it ? i said yep yep about 30 and thats about fast enough in an open 13 footer for me ....
i had me a 6 am to 10 am pass or play card and i decided to play .fathers day lunch plans gave me a short window and the boat was whisperin my name ....i tried to get someone to go with me but all my buds seemed to be busy with fathers day already , got home to the gate open and a little one standing in it with a present saying happy fathers day
then i walked in the door to find breakfast waiting as well !
what a wonderful day it was ....
