Long lining question

When I troll by myself I fish 6 - 8 footers out the back. Sometimes if I am trolling a clean bottom I fish 6 more off the sides up front. 2-14, 2-11, and 2-8 footers. I have to admit Fishing twelve by myself can get interesting sometimes. i could not do it without my I-PILOT!!!!!

If that video was c219troll that was me. In my experience the back of the boat out fishes the front by far and cover more water. I did comparison for a complete season and the results was enough for me to only long line out of the back.

BTW I fish 14 rods out the back with no problem at all.

Thanks all think I'm going to set up like this and see how it goes. Not so sure about how many rods. Maybe when the bite is slow I'll use more than my normal six, but I do pretty good with six and couldn't imagine having more than that when the fish are biting good. Plus the thought of a big bass or striper biting with 9 to 12 rods out is giving me a headache. Think I'll initially have three out the back with a 1 ounce sinker fishing straight down and three long lining out the sides and see how it goes.

Tracker boats have a tendency to be butt heavy, and when you add your weight to the transom area full time, wind will catch the bow even more, so you might consider ways to lower or stablize the bow (add weight). JMO

This is why I moved my 2 TM batteries up to right behind my front casting deck. Can't say I will win any awards for brilliant design but it works great for me. Also putting a pedestal base in the middle of my floor right behind the front deck allows me to stay low in the boat while being able to reach all my rods.

I bought a deep v hull this year. the beam is approx. 94 inches across the back. I bought this boat primarily so I could troll crankbaits and long line from the back. So far I am extremely pleased with the set up. There's plenty of room in the back for 2 people and I have no intention of someone fishing up front unless we are slow trolling.

I bought a deep v last year with the same intentions, has worked out very well for me as well.

Wow not in Kansas anymore Toto we are only allowed three poles apiece and we have to pay extra for the third.

yea i agree on the tracker boat, i have to give up in the wind. been considering buying one of the tracker deep v.
