    I should have counted the dorsal fin but didn't there were several things fishy about that these fish lol
    1. The color along the belly was yellowish like a bluegill or red ear
    2 the eyes were multicolored
    3 scale pattern was just like a crappie
    4 mouth was big for a redear or gill
    5 length was long for a redear or gill
    ju st a really strange fish ��

    That's not a flier! Fliers don't have the redear. This is a flier.

    Fliers must have heavy vegetation and high tannic acid waters to survive. They are found primarily in swampy waters. We catch them all the time. Your fish is some type of sunfish, but hard to tell after being on ice and without more info.

    Maybe green or spotted sunfish, but hard to tell from picture.

    Is there a filter on the picture? Kinda hard to tell with it being washed out like that, but looks like a redear.

    I would say Redear or maybe a Redear hybrid atleast .

    Female redear. Maybe crossed with another sunfish species.

    Sunfish and crappies CANNOT cross. Thatd be like a squirrel and a rabbit crossbreading... Not possible.
