Me and buddy fished and caught a nice mess I didn't get a pic. We were using bg sweet tea with a pink head, same color pole tips 6" apart he was wearing them out I was not getting a bit. He was fishing with a baby shad style I was fishing with a swimmer style, I switched over to the baby shad and I was catching fish also. I then caught 4-5 and I told him I'm going to put a slab slayer on and see what they would didn't get a bit, switched back to baby shad and they would hit it. I don't know how many we caught but it was pretty interesting that they would only hit that style and nothing else in the same color.

Congratulations Josh. You have the perfect laboratory for experimenting on different styles and colors of jigs. And, you do not mind conducting the experiments either.

After I switched to the baby shad style he was still catching more than me, but I was catching now. He was using 4lb line I was using 12lb only thing I can think of was his bait was falling different than mine. It was neat seeing how finicky the fish were.

Experiment with some of that braid I left in your truck. You'll feel the jig and bite better than with that 12# mono This afternoon

I too have better luck with the baby shad style. I have tried the swimmers and don't do near as good. All I buy now is the baby shad. Braid will feel a light bite if you can stand it ALWAYS getting wrapped around your tip. I fish 8 # mono in a hi vis color.
