I reversed the solo and I like the way it feels, but I don't think it's going to last. I will know soon

Nope it's garbage!!! I caught 5 fish this am with it and it's striped out.

Well, in the solo's defense it's not made for catching whales.... 🐳

Josh, I don't use this exact one but when I do use a "reeling" reel, I go with a spincast similar to this one. In water under 20 feet deep, I like to use Line Minder reels and just pull the string so I can keep the same depth. The Solo is more of a line holding reel and not a fish fighting reel. To fight larger fish you need a reel with good gears and a good drag.

Right....Its a jig pole reel

I have 4 solo's, but like PPG I really just use them for line holders. Terrible ratio for reeling. I use several varieties of spinning reels and like them all, including the $12.99 Shimano's. Here is a link to Mr. Ed Dukes fishing with those reels. He is the designer and producer of Southern Crappie Rods. By the way they are good rods , best for the money. Made of kevlar.

Come-on Josh...if your constantly going after 3 and 4 pound Crappie, you need to upgrade your tackle. I would hate to see you latch onto a Record fish and not be able to land it!lol
