PawPaw, the comeback has been slow but I have high hopes for next year. The water in Verret was very high practically all spring and I feel that the fish probably had a successful spawn with the catch being below normal.

sack531, I also live in Ponchatoula actually just below the fork where Yellow Water and Ponchatoula Creek meet and will keep an eye out for you. I fish a lot from Whiskey Island to Natalbany River.

Prefshiners, My camp is catacorner from Pmaw's Bait shop. He is closed now, moved to Springfield and opened another bait shop. He is trying to lease the bait shop on Shell Beach Rd, I am really hoping someone keeps it open. I too prefer shiners at times and I love to use crickets for bream. I am very familure with the area south of Verret that you speak of, I have fished it a lot over the years.

You guys in North LA have some great options for fishing, I hope to expand my horizons and make it up there sometime.
