Your right jimp.....I do both and sometimes at the same time out in open water. When I just push only its when I am areas where I cannot make long sweeping turns....I can turn sharper pushing. Pushing is when the depth is controled with a weight...I use two oz weights three ft. ahead of the crankbait.......Pulling is controlling the depth with out a weight by length of line out. One big advantage of pushing is you can use any crankbait....shallow running, deep running, or a lipless crank bait like a rattle trap. Both methods I recommend different length poles so you can have four ft. of separation between your lines.
