Hello everyone. I'm fairly new on here. I just bought my first boat last week (Im 20 years old) and Ive taken it fishing a couple of times but havent had much luck. Was hoping to get some feedback on good places to fish in the Northern part of the start (around Monroe) or different methods to try. I mainly like to fish with shiners and a cork. I just like watching that cork go under, (and thats the way Ive grown up fishing with my dad and grandpa). Im open to any tips on how to catch fish this time of the year. I dont have a wide variety of jigs and crankbaits in my tacklebox but I do have a few!
Thanks
Cole

to CDC Cole, from another shiner fisherman who also loves to see that cork go under......I am down here in south Louisiana so don't know all the places up there to catch a few.....we do have a lot of folks up that way who can help you out.....you will learn a lot just by reading up on all the posts....folks here share a lot and I am still learning....we will be having a big get together in November at Lake D'Arbonne state park where you can put a face to all the names you see here.....again, welcome aboard and let me know if I can assist you in any way...

Hiya CDC, have you ever tried Turkey Creek over around Wisner
Welcome Cole, glad you joined us. Another shiner fisherman here. Lots of folks up there to help you out, they'll pipe in before long.

Welcome and I love to see that cork go under too but I aint opposed to fish with whatever they will bite! Darbonne as the others have mentioned is a great lake to fish and not terribly far from West Monroe. Come see us at the gathering in November. Great to have some younger guys on here too! Thanks for signing up!
