    Default Cypress Update

Anybody fished Cypress in Benton lately? If the weather and wife cooperate (lol) I'm fishing Cypress Saturday afternoon. I'm wondering if there are still some spawners or if I need to chase them deeper.

Bman I live a mile from the lake and fish it some. Just about got enough of it we need a slot limit on it bad to many people keeping small fish,in the last 5 years the size of the fish has gone down. You can still catch a lot of fish.

Mike, I witness too small fish being kept nearly every time I go. I'm not sure if that's the reason for the decrease in the slabs or if it's something else. I have heard that lakes go through peaks and valleys over the years. I wonder if the draw down in 2010 (I think that was the year) hurt.

I'm hoping that with Lake Ivan back open it has taken some of the pressure off of Cypress and the next few years will get better.

Just curious to know what size y'all consider too small to keep?

They just have to pass the eyeball test so I'd guesstimate anything below 8 or 9 inches.
