Default New Here, looking for some pointers

New to the area and the rivers around this area. Did find me a fishin hole saturday in henderson though. I hear that you guys are the masters when it comes to this area. I wondered over to henderson this weekend and popped my boat in at that landing just down the road a click from the restaurant Pats. Managed to find a couple keepers but the water was real dirty and the bite was kinda slow. I found some on those drains coming through the highlands and on the trees. looking forward to advice.

    Thanks, Bradford

Looks better than anything I did in Henderson Saturday. I think you got them figured out. Welcome to the board.

I aint even sure of the name of that river but I put in at the ramp by the place Pats. There was a whole mess of boats there. I passed by Pats after launchig but didnt catch much up there. Found the most on the way down south. Talked to folks who were catching too so I figured thats just how they bite here! I was happy. I want to try that lake there too.

Welcome CC101....it sounds like you launched in Bayou Amy.....if you go further down that road (away from Pats) you will find several launches across the levee (to your left) to access Henderson ($5).....Henderson is on the other side of the levee....it seems the catching in Amy has been better than Henderson....Henderson is really high right now.....it may turn on when it starts falling.....there is a free public launch in Henderson at the rest area on Interstate 10 (about 10 miles East from Pats)....good luck & glad to have you on board.....

Welcome to the forum Bradford. We need the advice from you it looks like. I was in that same bayou as you Saturday and only managed 5 fish. I didn't go super far South. Did it get way better the further South you went? That was my first trip in there too.

Nice catch 101, thanks for posting. I was in Bayou Amy myself Saturday, boated four that I was able to filet. Didn't go that far south to see the drains, wasn't there long enough. You're right, high and dirty. Do like the area though.
