when it ges cold, you can rule out 90% of the lake for fishing. every crappie is in the channel. the trick is finding the part of the channel that holds the hosses. you shouldn't have to look very hard to find the hot spots. there will be 30 boats in those spots. LOL

I will be making my first gathering this year also. I have always been working the weekend of the past few. Looking forward to meeting some of the fellow members, and some good food is always a plus. I live in West Monroe, so want be camping. Just have to figure out how I can fish Saturday and be able to bring something to the Pot Luck that night. Any suggestions would be helpful. We have friends that live on the lake, so might can work something out with them. Can anyone attend the gatherings, are is it for crappie.com members only? Thanks, Stan.
If you dont have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time time to fix it.

hey lahotwood, the gatheirng is for anyone that wants to come hang out with the best group of folks in the state. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!!!!! just to be clear, the pot luck supper is friday night and the fish fry is saturday night. we can't wait to meet you and i can guarantee you will have a blast. come hungry, leave happy!! (i stole that, but can't remember from where.)

we will be eating at cabin #9, which is the first cabin on the left when you approach the cabin loop. you are more than welcome to put anything in our fridge as well. we normally don't lock the door, and if we do, we always leave the key under the mat. this was if someone wants to drop off food, they can do so if my group is fishing.

I'll go ahead and tell everyone. Me and my crew will be in cabin #9. This is also he cabin we will be eating in. I will make sure we leave it unlocked. If anyone has food that needs to go in the fridge, please feel free to let yourself in and put it in the fridge. Also, in the evening, if you have food that needs to be cooked, or heated up, feel free to come in and utilize the oven or stove. If we are not there it will be fine to let yourself in. Also if you have chairs, you can set the up in front of the cabin. I will make sure to have the crappie.com banner proudly hung out front. Yall are all welcome to hang out in our cabin if you need a place to rest, or relax, or look at some TV. More to come, for sure.............

We will arrive around 9-10 Thursday morning. We will unload the truck at cabin #9 and then head to the lake to fish. Prolly launch at state park Thursday since we will be limited on time. I will try to holler at you to see where you are at.
