Tomorrow I am going to the camp at Hosston to enjoy the long weekend. One thing i enjoy doing is bream fishing off the boat dock. i have heard that alfalfa hay attracts bream. So I took a five gallon plastic pail and drilled a bunch of holes in it, put some weight in it and then filled it with alfalfa cubes. I then put a lid on it and a rope on the bail. I plan on lowering it off the dock and see if it attracts fish. Anyone had any experience with this.

He uses it for crappie.
Corn works
My understanding is it attracts shrimp which attracts fish. A few well heads around duck lake used to be baited that way for sac au lait. Good luck
Many years ago I would make extra grits at the camp and throw that off the pier - always had bream around there. Never tried or heard about alfalfa but heard a lot about cotton seed cakes.
Cotton meal, Corn, and Range Cubes all pack in the Catfish
You might catch a horse!!!![]()
