Did he cut the handle off your reel before u could stop him?
I know all to well what u mean...I've stopped to visit him to let him know where I was catching fish and leave there a hour later with out ever having the chance to tell him anything! He's a kick! I doubt if anyone knows the maringouin bayou, sorrel and pigeon area any better than him.

I met his son once....I don't think so, but, I don't think anyone will ever have the passion that JB has.........JB is also writing a book of all his knowledge of crappie fishing and experiences on the water.......he said he also knows "sac-a-lait DA" and his family.....

I promised him some "fillets" my next trip over.....

Got to ask.... Why does he cut the handle off of the reel?

He cuts the handle off because he doesn't use one. He says it gets in the way and is something for the line to get caught on. He just spins the reel with his hand much like a cowboy fanning a six shooter.

Sad to say PPG, but he's been telling that story for years. I do hope someone takes over.

I don't believe so. For me anyways.

I use line grab for shtick fish but for getting line out of way, I don't believe so. Plus my resident, JB esque historian old timer, uses the handle as a jig-stop-holder at the tip. If that makes any sense.
    Wanna race?

Bistineaudon, I bet he would enjoy seeing those rods again and sharing some stories of days past.
