Charlie, you are so blessed to have a camp on Black Bayou. It is such a beautiful lake. I use to fish it when I live in Cotton Valley. It was so peaceful and beautiful with all of the cypress trees that most of the time I didn't care if the fish were biting or not. It is a good place to spend some time with God. Congratulations on catching a mess of fish.

Gene, the cold really did a number on the salvinia. There was very little around and it looked sick. Hopefully it will be a few years before it gets as bad as it was last year. The good thing is that the hydrilla seems to be gone also. I am hoping the grass carp keep that in check. I have not seen the lake looking this good in several years. Hopefully we can keep it this way awhile.

Pastor there are times I get in among the cypress trees in the shade with a nice gentle breeze blowing and lean back and take a nap. it is soothing to the body and the soul.

Mr. Charliee, I'm hoping to get out to that beautiful lake tomorrow. Might even have the wife in the boat with me too which is a bonus. Told her she might have to drive in case she's ready to leave before I am. LOL Keeping my fingers crossed we can find some hungry fish. At this point, I'm not picky on what's biting...been too long.
