    Default Toledo Bend report

It is nice to see all of the good reports from Toledo Bend. I spent most of the last 2 weeks up there and caught good almost every day. The only 2 days that I did not catch a bunch was when my cousin came to fish with me. It happens every time that I invite someone up there. I even told him that they would turn on as soon as he left. I had my limit within 2 hours of dropping him off at the boat landing, I texted him the pics before he made it back home. We had a fun time fishing together but I wish he could have experienced the good fishing that was going on. One weird thing that I noticed was that I could not catch fish more than one day in a spot. I had to keep finding them every day. I caught them all in similar spots but after you caught them in one area that was it.

Its pan fried with no batter. I like it like that, just seasoned with salt pepper and lime juice.

Good report, thanks. Looks like you had launched at San Miguel, noticed the boat slips. That picture of the fresh cut Pico de gallo in that bowl and that bowl what appears to be a tomatillo salsa is superb - makes my mouth water. Love that stuff, and make it regular. I can eat a bowl of that like a bowl of ice cream. We need to get together sometime. I also eat fresh cut avocados like candy. I noticed you must visit a Mexican grocery as well with that bottle there, me too. Did you roll all that up in fresh flour tortillas, what they call "fish tacos" now a days?

Okay enough about making me hungry. Bet you caught that big bass right where you are standing. Seen folks catch big ones there the weekend after a bass tournament where they release them. Same thing at SRA Cypress Bend after a tournament. Last spring at Cypress Bend two guys from Baton Rouge were staying in the cabin next to ours, and never put their boat in the water for three days doing the same thing. There I go again telling folks the exact spot

Enjoyed you being with us at the TB gathering. Please make a point next year to be there again at the end of February. You can bring some of that Pico de gallo and tomatillo if you want

    Nice post, thanks again.

Yep that bass was caught right there. I caught alot off fish off the bank sunday, I did not want to fight the wind and I had alot of fish to clean from Saturday so I did not go out in my boat. I lived in Mexico and my wife is from there so I eat my fish like that most if the time. I dont call them tacos but its the same thing. I put the fish, pico, advocado , salsa on a tortilla and eat it like that. Hopefully they are still biting in 2 weeks when I get back from work.

I knew it! West Texas myself. I don't call them tacos either, the reason why I put parentheses around that. Yum for sure! Please bring your wife to the gathering next year . I'll still do the alligator and crawfish etouffee for folks, but I'll have what you guys are fixing.
