Thanks for the update. Do you guys think the Spring melt will effect anything? If I recall, a couple of years ago, they opened the gates at Morganza into the Basin. That was some serious water coming down. I don't know much about this, just wondering. Thanks.

High water during spawning time is great for the fish...allows them to get back in the woods and do their thing without being caught. Should be a great year in da basin once everything settles.

All the Mississippi and Ohio River gauges above Cairo and New Madrid are falling, so the water should be fairly low prior to the big snow melt, so I am not expecting a huge rise this year. I hope we can get the Atchafalaya at Butte La Rose to 16-17 this spring, as this is great for the fish and crawfish, and the sportsman as the fish react to the fall! I am not hearing anybody talk about a major flood this year, which is what it would take to require the floodgate to be opened as referenced above, it has only happened twice, 1976 and 2011, so it takes historic levels to get the river that high. I also wish that we could get the gauge in Bayou Fusilier working, as it gives us a day or two indication of water coming from the north before it affects pelba.

Is there a proper way to launch in lillies. Or should it be avoided altogether?
