    Look on Google and find the pontoon bridge and follow the canal south you will run across the gates

    Ah now I'm straight. I new about those gates, but didn't know they were near Chatahola. Also thought that was the Butte La Rose canal. So I'm guessing the Butte La Rose canal turns East near the pontoon and dead ends before the river. Then the question is what is the name of the canal the with the gates that allows barges to make it to the river?

    Yes you are right about the butte la Rose canal and I can't think of the name of the canal with the gates at this time !!
