[QUOTE=PawPaw "gene";2588017]Not only ready but enjoying it. Yesterday fished a little while and caught a large female on a cypress tree. I then dropped my jig in again and caught the male. Sorry to end there romantic interlude but so be it. Air temp near 80, water temp 68.

We put in at the state park because Lesters at Hwy 2 was Jammed. The water is about one foot above normal level. Where we found the males normaly be at 7 ft, the water was slightly muddy but was easy to see the trolling motor in the water. One 1/2 pound male I expected to get off the hook. the Jig had Foul hooked the fish just behind the Gill cover in a soft flesh area. I guess I snuck up on him. There was almost no fish showing on Sonar as they were on the Bottom....... Slip- You are right about Stowe creek. I usually miss the early spawn in that area and find Red ears on the beds the Crappie just left.
