Went to Claiborne today. First time. I mean, I live 45 minutes away. Fishing was pretty slow and I came within an inch of freezing to death. At least that's how it felt. Caught 15 nice crappies between myself and my nephew who's completely new to hunting and fishing. My intent is to fully corrupt him. This is him with a couple of nice Claiborne crappies.

Nice fish freebird and you should be ashamed of yourself for corrupting your nephew, haha.

I got another fella goin with me Friday who ain't ever caught a crappie. I like turning folks on to the finer things in life. Always, always show em a good time. Feed em well. Keep em comfortable. Soon as we get home, clean and cook the fish. After that they're pretty much hooked. My nephew here got the treatment this weekend. Squirrel huntin with dogs, went on a coon hunt that nite, crappie fishin today. His city boy days are numbered.

Squirrel hunting, that's right up my alley but the hurricanes and destroyed all my spots. Now I shoot them in my yard with the pellet rifle. Got 5 last year in a week.

Paw paw. We do well on squirrels. This is one day last season.

Everything loaded, warm clothes in truck, food packed. Going to give it a try tomorrow. Hope it is not a bust.
