Hi guys
just ran across your forum today. I was really interested as you are getting together at San Miguel. I have a house 1 mile from there. Unfortunately I have to be in Baton Rouge that weekend. I was wanting to stop by and meet ya'll. I am an avid bass fisherman, but my wife loves to perch jerk. I am trying to learn it to get her out in the boat more. In June last year we went on a guided perch trip just to wet your whistles this is a possibility. Saturday morning we fished near the coups off the river channel and Sunday in the 1215 area. 6 of us fished and limited out each day before noon. Although it was guided you can do this without a guide. Remember on the river channel 20 feet can be the difference from catching or not. Move around. Attached photos.

Well got a late start today. Launched at cypress, with minnows. Tried 2 spots. Wind out the west making it difficult. Went across to Lowes creek, marked a few, talked to someone from kentucky we saw at the coop yesterday. They caught none either day. I missed one and after 20 minutes the wind did a 180 out of the east and started blowing like crazy. Was a very cold 48 degrees with the wind. Decided to give up. Back across the lake. Been coming regularly fo 2.5 yrs.Worst waves and whitecaps I ever crossed in.We got wet going about 10 mph. Got back to the camp and dried out, gave up fishing and ate homemade meatball poboys. So, 8 total hrs in 2 days. 1 crappie. Looks like the weather will settle for a few days. That should help. Will try again a few hours tomorrow in lanana and the coop if wind allows. Danny
