Thread: Toledo Bend gathering

Now.

Since this is something new to me, I can only imagine it may be akin to a family reunion. So, if your going to send out a list of items needed to have a gathering
of a number of folks that like to eat and fish and eat what they catch.........may I presume it fitting to volunteer to furnish something like plastic cups, paper
plates and plastic forks & spoons? Or, are we each responsible for furnishing just what we will utilize? Some feedback appreciated for sure.

RETRR When you volunteer to bring a dish or plates or whatever to the Friday potluck, it means for every body. Just for an example. Someone may bring a gallon jug of fish fry meal, or myself will bring 4 pies and 5 dozen tamales. Someone may bring enough plates and napkins for 50 people. Typically if you bring food, bring enough for 20 or 30 people. Other stuff like condiments, pick up large bottles, plastic ware pick up enough for 50 or so. When Randy starts the food list, it will be easy to figure out . So looking forward to meeting you and hopefully fishing with you. Danny

well, I had my end of the year assessment with my boss today. he gave me a glowing review. but he told me something that made me sad. my company let 20% of the workforce go in October. over a thousand folks. I am so blessed to survive the cuts. but they have suspended all vacation until further notice after the first of the year. I asked him about my scheduled time off for the gathering and he said it would have to be approved by his boss, our group lead. so that being said I am out for the Toledo gathering too. I hate this since me and freebird had such a large time last year. I am not sure if all the cabins are booked or not but I plan to cancel my reservation tomorrow morning. I just hate this. SLAB AND G were supposed to fish with me since I was coming alone. I am sick that I won't get to meet slab and rub elbows with him and our other guests. but I just don't feel it is smart to push this with our group lead. you guys be safe and have fun and don't wear the coop out too much.

Mark, you work for Chesapeake Energy now Anadarko Jr.? If so, maybe I can pull some strings. At least Saturday, huh?
