    Default Toledo Bend gathering


    Ya'll got me spooked when reading about the cabins being booked up at the upcoming gathering at D'Arbonne. So, I pulled the trigger on reserving the lodge at San Miguel. I know it's way early, but "G" told me to plan early for the next one after he read about our event there last time. So I did. As some of you guys recall, it's nice with plenty of room. Here's a picture of it from the last gathering there:

    Reserved for the last weekend of January 2014, Friday the 24th and Saturday the 25th for the deep water bite at Toledo Bend. The campground is here (click on San Miguel):

    Next to the campground (within walking distance) is Wildwood Resort. They use the SRA San Miguel boat ramp. The cabins there are larger, some with multiple rooms for folks to share. Here's the link:

    sticky it is!! we had a really good time last year. caught quite a few fish too. finally got to experience the infamous/famous chicken coop. pretty sure if i am not working i will be back. thanks tracker.

    Lol... man i hope to be able to attend this year. But i know there is already one big potential hiccup... Sometime between December and January (depending on what the doctor & my insurance company says) I am supposed to go in for gastric bypass surgery. I hope it's not my luck to have the surgery or recovery fall on these dates...

    If i am mobile and the river don't rise i will make it one way or another..

    Just booked cabin #17 for Didi and I for the 23, 24 & 25th....same one we had last year......

    remember guys....no TV or radio in the cabins.....you can bring a radio if you wish.....

    and the race is on......

    G, Slab, and Billbob are talking about coming. I'm sure I am not the only one who would really enjoy their company there. It would be an extreme pleasure for me. We should do a Louisiana cooking potluck on Friday for these guys if you don't mind for a special treat for them. We may have to beat Billbob back with a stick to keep him from our women though .

    Just gotta mention.....Friday Jan 24 happens to be my 69th birthday and.........I was born in Houma, LA

    Just marked "Toledo Bend Gathering Do Not Book Wedding" across the weekend of January 25 through 26, 2014 in my Liturgical Calendar.
    Also wrote Darbonne Gathering across November 8th through 10, 2013 in the 2013 calenar. I do not know why so many people want to get married during fishing season?
