    Default big bear ramp

If anybody here uses ramp at end of Big Bear Hwy (old KY Hwy 58) and disagree with the parking situation please email Mike Miller (Marshall Co. Judge Exec) [email protected]

I stayed with my brother just up the road from this ramp. Used it from October 1 to the 5th. If you tryied to launch on the left ramp, you would hang your trailer axle up (hump and drop off). You could use the right ramp, but had to be careful. This depends upon your trailer. This the lowest that I have seen the ramp for this time of year. Of course you have the boaters who do not know how to use a ramp, no matter what condition it is in.

The parking is bad there. They use to have it where everyone parked in the middle and you could circle around but since they moved the spaces over to the side, its difficult to try and swing your rig around. Plus, there is a group from Illinios that holds their bass tournys there and they always seem to have the weigh-in right at the top of the ramp. They just pull their boats up and park and you can't back out of your space. Not bashing Illinios people, just that inconsiderate group.

The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!

This is exactly the point I've tried to make to Mike Miller. There is not another ramp in this area (maybe the country) that is laid out like this one. He claims this is the way the majority wants it to gain a couple of parking spaces. I challenged him to visit other ramps in the area.
